That makes me think back to when I was a teen there and learning to surf. It was those days that we'd be out in the water anyway, trying to catch whatever we could. And for the first couple of years, without a wetsuit since we couldn't afford one. Thinking back, I now know that there were several days where we were truly hypothermic, but kept at it. Now, even with a thick wetsuit, that first duck dive and flush of cold water into the wetsuit is enough for me to turn back around to the heated car.

Hopefully it helps. The increase in frequency seems to do the trick. I look forward to seeing it work for you.

    Clean @ 1'
    125x5x3

I forgot to set my alarm this morning so I woke up 30 minutes late for training, which made for a less enjoyable, expedited session. I did, however, get all sets across for the press at 125 (thanks Bill!), but I didn't have time to fit in bench presses at 80%. In fact, when I was done with my presses, I only had seven minutes left before I had to go, so I put the bar on the ground with my press weight intact and knocked out 3 sets of 5 power cleans.

That's the way to do it, Ryan!

In the grand scheme of things, the reason why you're doing this lifting (lifestyle), cranking out those cleans was just as meaningful as had you got the extra bench session in.

    Keep at it!

So close to getting that 5th rep of the final set on bench. Stopped halfway up and pushed for what felt like an eternity, then lowered to the safeties. Next time, especially if I can get a light day in beforehand.

Stupid press. The deadlift was really hard today. The final warm-up at 315 was probably too aggressive, but I was running out of time and was trying to be efficient. I nearly lost the hook-grip on the fourth rep of the working set so I'll be learning how to use straps in the days leading up to my next deadlift day (Wed, Feb 15).

Programming issue. Doing 83% sets across as your extra light press is good. Just not the day immediately prior to your main work Press. If anything, the day after (e.g., Saturday on a M/W/F schedule).

Between sets of chins I was practicing how to use straps on the deadlift, so I'm not sure what the times between sets were. I have seatbelt material I cut out from my son's car seat when he grew out of it and I have enough material left over for someone else to make two 18" straps if interested.
