    Hi all,

I decided to do something useful with my Instagram page. I will be uploading short clips of my workouts and probably other things in relation to strength training. Nothing exciting, and probably dry and boring, but having tunnel vision it will at least be focused.

I enjoy this forum and the like minded individuals sharing in the same goals. I invite you to the page and I guess the polite thing to do is reciprocate.

I think this is how you can find me:

Very happy with this week's cycle. Hoping recovery goes well over next few days so I can get a good start with the new cycle on Sunday.

    May 9 2022 - Volume Day

    Squats: 247.5lbs - 5r x 5s
    Press: 137lbs - 5r x 5s
Chin Ups: Bodyweight with green and blue band assists - 3r x 3s

The 5A program is tough on an old guy and the book cautions this. This is only the 6th week in (16 workouts) so not ready to throw in the towel yet and will stay on 5x5s for at least the rest of the month, but man they are tough.

    Great tip about 5A, Bill.

I'm at the end of my normal winter maintenance schedule and have been trying to figure out which of the two programs (or slight variations thereof) I'll start at the end of this month. I've been reading the TM chapter in BBRx again, plus Andy Baker's articles on his blog. The bit on the TM that I keep returning to is on page 235 - "The Texas Method is most appropriate for Masters in their 40s or 50s (and some in their 60s) who have made serious strength training their primary mission" (emphasis mine).

So 6A it is, plus keeping Nick's modified TM programming for the presses.

    Keep at it!
