I made that up. Since you called my bluff I looked for the cert prices on @fit.com.
From here:
http://www.regonline.com/builder/sit...eventid=837105
prices for a cert in Sydney last weekend:
AUD/USD is pretty close to 1:1 right now.First Day Only, Open to All, $295.
Two Day CrossFit Running Certification, Level 1 Pre-Requisite, $595.
Two Day POSE Running Certification, Pose Members Only, $1200
I can't believe someone would pay $1200 to learn how to run. Ridiculous. Society sucks.
While I agree that the cost is ridiculous (and btw, it was this way LONG before any affiliation with @fit), having actually read the book (I really had issues with running mechanics and wanted to learn to stop) imo, Dr. R (yeah, a real PhD in biomechanics) has some good science here on the basis of his claims on how we should run (disclaimer, I don't have a degree in that, but am a Nuclear/mechanical engineer from MIT with +15 yrs experience working with mechanical shit). While the excessive capitalist nature exhibited by the subject expatriate Russian is amusing in its own right and perhaps merits study (ha!), I think that basing opinion on cost and recent affiliation with @fit shows a fairly significant bias that would perhaps be better served by some informed opinion. I mean hey, the guy's living the dream and trying to make some money. Affiliation with @fit makes pose bad like saying Mike Burgener, Louie Simmons, and Dave Tate and their methods suck because of their affiliation - JUST PLAIN MULARKY. Now, if you have read the book, and disagree on the basis of some education on the subject, then by all means please accept my advanced apology. If not, well...

To counter the whiners, I think that losing the belt is a perfectly valid way to break through a plateau, psychologically if for no other reason.
