    I guess it could be seen as that, kono wasnt super specific. When describing picture B he does mention more forward lean & lower bar position involving a lot more muscle and allowing much larger weights to be squatted. These are exactly the reasons why Rip recommends the low bar parallel squat. But I guess for some reason Kono feels that it does not improve cleaning ability. I think Starr shares this viewpoint too. I think everybody is right in their own way.

    Parallel squat, not a full squat.

    But parallel low bar squats is what Rip teaches, and what most of us train with.

    does he in fact teaches parallel squats? i always thought he teaches below parallel squats (hip joint under patella)

    Every squat must go below parallel.*

    The squats in the OP are below parallel. SS squats are below parallel.

    *some squats don't go below parallel, but until you are moving at least 3 plates and probably more like 4 you probably shouldn't mess with any sort of non below parallel squatting.

    Hip joint under patella IS a parallel squat.
