    Default First time Sumo (I will never forget this)

    • starting strength seminar jume 2024
    • starting strength seminar august 2024
    • starting strength seminar october 2024
    It was 100kg, felt like 130kg conventional.
    Please critique my form. I watched Mike T's video on straight back deadlifts and try not to round my back at any costs. Because a round back on deadlifts is what injured my back.

    Lol. Way too many people think Sumo is going to easier, but that is rarely the case. These 2 videos helped me out. Stay Strong!

    I can't comment on anything regarding stance, grip, etc... from this angle. What I can see is that you are overextending your back. Brace your abs hard so that your lumbar spine is in anatomical extension. I know you are worried about flexion, but you can injure your back in over extension as well. Also, I would like to see you setup with higher hips, so that your shoulder as just a touch in front of the bar. Lastly, get off of your heals. Getting your hips up/shoulder forward should fix this as well.
