    Hi all,

Please let me know what you think of my squat.

    YouTube

I took this video directly from the side as I wanted to check the path of the bar vs. my foot - it seems I'm still a little forward.Next time I'll take the video from the back 45 instead.

    Thanks!!!

You are not tight enough - squeeze harder on your valsalva. Slow your descent a little - you are sort of flopping to the bottom. Use a TUBOW - your knees are going too far forward. Your a bit too vertical. Get footage from the rear 45 angle, I think your stance may be narrow.

I'll work on those for next workout, and will take a video from the rear 45.

    Thanks!!

Here is my 3rd set @ 165. I had a TUBOW in the video to help guide me.

    A few things about me:
    45yr old,
I get some knee pain on try right knee, (on the outside, and front) when I squat, which lingers after for a day or so.
In 2012 I ruptured a disc in my low back, causing all sorts of nerve damage (still), and other issues at the time, so I'm very motivated to make sure my form is correct. Terrified of re-injury.

Don't rush unracking. Stand up, pause, and then step back. You can get your upper back a bit better set (read the thoracic extension article posted on here). Maybe narrow your stance just a little bit.

I'd warm up with the TUBOW. I wouldn't use it during work sets.

You need to get tighter in general. Think about flexing your abs HARD like someone was going to punch you in the stomach. You do look a hair wide on your stance.
