    Default Deadlift Form Check

    I'm wondering if my DL technique needs a re-vamp... Any insights appreciated.

    My DL progresses slower than Squat. I definitely prefer the squat to the DL...

    50 year old male, 5'11", 265lbs. Started lifting in Feb, 2017. No previous barbell experience. Sedentary for 2 years prior to starting to lift.

    Current lifts:

    Deadlift (295lbs 1s/5R)
    Squat 3s/5R 315lbs
    Bench 3s/5R 195lbs
    OHP 5s/3R 141lbs
    PC Just started PC, 3x5R 155lbs

    Bar is too far in front of you and hips start too low.

    And implement those 5 steps in your set up.

    Deadlift: You are messing up the setup a bit. Very briefly, you have it right, but then the bar gets pushed forward and then you lower your hips too much. Also, set the bar down faster when you're done. Try narrowing your stance a little bit.

    Squat: The video angle isn't great. Lower the hooks a notch. Make yourself tighter.
