Power Clean Form Check; Possible Arm Pull?
YouTube
205x3x5
Reintroducing the Olympic variants after some time doing only slow pulls. Some things I noticed:
1. Timing deteriorates as the sets go on. This messes with the catch.
2. By set three, possible arm pull, could just be poor timing.
3. Failed pulls lacked commitment.
Next time, I plan on doing more/heavier warmups using the "top-down" method from the book. If you see anything else, or can confirm whether or not its an arm pull, I appreciate it.

yep, is like you say, the further you go along the worse it gets.
I was gonna say no on the first couple set ...there was a minute hint of an early arm pull, but not worth messing you up by mentioning it.
But yeah, set 3 . . . and so on.
Nice power cleans tho.
under the anything else category:
Some might say you head whip/look at the ceiling too much. I have the same thing.
I don't really thing that is a big problem tho...
I think its more you (and I) maintaining the neck to back angle throughout the lift. . . the "looking up" angle at the start.

...maybe in the side view I see some lumbar flexion there, maybe thats just your meaty erectors tho.

MBasic, makes sense. My back felt pretty "locked-in," but I'll put in some work on the arm/timing. Thanks for your help!

Only to say I envy you madly for those nice Jerk Boxes you have in your gym.
I hope you are making good use of them.

IPB, wish I knew how to take advantage of them. I haven't even jerked since serving time in a poorly-coached Crossfit gym 18 months ago. I'm just a dude that likes power cleans and power snatches, even if I can't pull much weight yet.
