    FYI: New Press Check Thread.

    I deadlifted 2 days ago and tried the hook grip. I used it for all sets, so I can get used to it. (Damn you Rippetoe, felt like ripping off my thumbs. )

    I was a faster in the descent this time. My hips were way too low after setting the bar down. I'll work on that. Any cues?

    Right before you initiate the first deadlift, you're on your toes. So you set your back and rock back to the middle of your foot. Try rocking to the middle of your foot before pulling your back flat. You still need to make your back a U more. Try to pull the slack out of the bar before pushing the floor away from you.

    What Matt Stacks said, + keep your butt high on the way down. You're still dropping a bit and the bar is getting a little forward of your midfoot.
