    Squat and bench check (Previous post)

    Brutal day yesterday...Squat ended up 295x5, x3, x2. Having trouble with keeping upper back tension. Press get pretty good, grip failed DL 295 so I’m switching to hook grip, deloaded to 275.

    Next workout is light squat and I’ll be working with Tanner so hopefully he can shape up anything I need to cover to keep progressing. Any advice is appreciated!

    Get your back angle set sooner, i.e. lean over and shove your hips back earlier. You're sitting straight down in the hole on most of these as opposed to down AND back.

    Regarding your press, your timing is off with the hip drive. Hips go forward and THEN press as you recoil back. Also, your elbow are in front of the bar just slightly too much.
