    Even with 315, you're lifting the bar off the floor before fully extending your back.

    Also the bottom of a deadlift is usually the hardest part especially if you're making sure your back stays in extension the entire time, so yes there's a significant difference between even a 1 inch block pull and a standard deadlift. It's not huge but it is noticeable.
