seems like you are hunting for depth as the last part of the squat
just go down and come up
I posted a depth check from last Friday and I was an inch high. Here is my last set of volume day: YouTube
I tried on each successive set to get lower and I couldn't and I felt like I was relaxing in the bottom.
For comparison, here is a set from my LP with sufficient depth: YouTube
I noticed that since then I have developed this exaggerated pause before hitting the bottom position since my LP. Is this why I am not able to hit depth? Is it due to any other factors? My meet is next week and I need to identify what specifically is the problem and fix it before then.
Thanks for your time,
Jack Morrison

I wouldn’t thing pausing would interfere with range of motion except for to strengthen the point at which you pause, thus, making you more comfortable there rather than the bottom.
Since you have identified this pattern why do u think you are having trouble with not pausing in your opinion? (Mental or physical)
Also Im interested in how you warm up for squats?
I'm pretty confident I fixed my depth issue, I just needed to spread my knees. Fulcrum, thanks a lot. At the time I thought I was a special snowflake and thus over complicated something as simple as depth. I have that weird pause before dropping into the bottom position and I have had it for a while. While I see no immediate detriment from it, should I just go down in one fluid motion and keep it that way?
May I ask the rationale behind bouncing on top?
Still high, Jack. These look right at parallel.
That's about as rock bottom as I can get screenshotting it from youtube.
