My DL doesn't feel right. I have a friend who has helped as much as he can based on some SS coaching he paid for. My hips feel high but they look too low on the video, but if they are any higher I cant set my back at all successfully.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Hi, I would say your hips are definitly too low. Also you are very rounded in your upper back, try to stick your chest up more to get rid of that.

I can‘t tell by watching the video: Are your shoulders in front or behind the bar when you are in the starting position?

Read the book, watched plenty of your training vids. My shoulders are directly over the bar as much as I can help it. I'm not sure if my issues stem primarily from mobility problems or my gut. I have shorter than average arms and it just seems impossible to set my back properly without dropping my hips too low.

In this video, where is the bar in relation to your foot? Why?

Raise your hips and keep the bar over your mid-foot. Drag it up your shins and thighs.
