Hey Tedd,
Depth is fine. Use clips. You could use a little more hip drive. Drive your butt up explosively as soon as you get below parallel, and yes lean over a bit more. Also need to see a weight that is challenging.
Hello,
My name is Tedd (not a typo) and I am New to starting strength. Read the book over Christmas break. Played collegiate hockey but never once did a low bar squat in my life. Have a history of chronic back pain though it's much improved over the last couple years. Had some issues with lumbar lordosis/anterior pelvic tilt. I am 30 years old and 6'2 215lbs.
Here's what I see in this set of five at 135lbs. Might be able to go a touch deeper. Knees out on the way up. Back angle is my biggest question with low bar, I am not sure how bent over I should be. Keeping upper back tight is also something I'm sure I can improve. My shoulders are a little rounded due to poor posture over the years.
Thanks for watching!
