Novice Deadlift Form Check @295
Here is my working set for deadlift today. This is week 6 of LP, so everything is getting kinda heavy but this didn't feel too bad. I know I got away from my shins a bit on rep 3.
I'd like a form check to make sure I'm ok as I move forward.
For reference I'm 21yo, 5'11, and 206 lbs
Thanks in advance.

novice reply from here,
(I did my 290 today),
others may see more, but,
that last rep, stand tall, and hold it a bit, 2,3,count,
otherwise add weight to bar.

Hey Cale
You're set up a bit too close to the bar, and then you're making the shins vertical by rocking back to your heels every rep to pull it.
Narrow your stance so your heels are under your hips and move back about a quarter inch. Then keep the shoulders out over the bar as you use the quads to straighten the knees and break the bar off the ground, while you stay midfoot.
Neil is also correct about locking the bar out with some authority.

Have shoes become pointless? Is it just not worth the time to argue with them?

I'm hoping he'll figure out that if he wore some sort of shoes, he'd actually be able to line up on the bar consistently.

Not sure where I got the idea to pull without shoes. I guess I thought it would improve ability to stay over midfoot. I will pull in shoes from now on.
