    Hey guys

I'm having a hard time with my upper back extension in the squat. I try hard to make proud chest, contract my shoulder blads and scapulas but maybe you have another thing that can help.

I'm doing texas method right now, and this is my light day when im doing tempo squat 303 with 275 lbs and try to be in much control that I can.

    45' video: tempo 45' engle - YouTube

90' video, you can see the flexion realy good: tempo side engle - YouTube

Thanks for any help to improve my squat.

Are you squatting with thumbs around the bar because of the upper back problem?
The only real issue I see here is keeping the knees pinned out in the bottom and on the way out of the hole.

    Thumbs around because elbow pain.

I know about my knees caving problem and I'm trying hard to controll them.

On the video from the side, 90 degree angle, there's too much beck flexion no? You cant actually see that from the 45' degree video.

    Very little.
You need to lift the chest up before each rep to set the upper back. You only need to lean over enough to send the hips back and keep everything on midfoot.
Knee position helps to anchor the back angle, so if they collapse and the back goes more horizontal, you're just making the erectors work harder.

These are awfully slow, hard to get a decent rebound with this slow a descent.

    Which program includes "tempo squats"?

Don't be mad. Just a variant that I use to try to improve my controll at the decent of the movement and bottom position. Everything else is just the main lifts.

Anyway it's a big honor to argue with you.
