Default Power Clean - foot sticks, torso twists

    Howdy,

I had an issue with my cleans recently. I actually hurt my lower back, unfortunately. Luckily it is a minor tweak and I should be back at it soon. Anyway...

My left foot stuck on the ground while my right foot lifted off the ground as usual for the stance chance when I catch the bar. My whole body rotated clockwise a little bit, which is certainly not ideal. Ouch!

Additionally, my right foot sometimes ends up pointing further out or slightly further back.

This issue is worse with heavy weights, but it happens to a lesser degree with light weight. Any ideas what may have caused my form breakdown?

    Thanks

Unfortunately, due to (very real) privacy concerns, I do not feel comfortable posting a video because it will reveal where I train.

No Mark, I have a stalker. Thanks for the laugh, though!

Respectfully, I figured that describing the issue would be sufficient to get a few pointers (this muscle may be tight, etc etc). I understand there is a lot of nuance a video captures that a description misses. I could easily post pictures to represent my stance change, if that would help. If video is a precondition for feedback, please just let me know and I'll make do some other way.

    Thanks everyone.

How do you expect us to know what you're doing wrong if we can't see it?

Mail me some juice, a go-pro, a phat tube sock, and a roll of quarters. Let's see what happens.

Training illegally - still cracking me up!

I don't have any video of my form breakdown, only video of me from a while ago with (I would say) passable form. The bad rep hurt my back, but it is very minor, so I am deloading for about another week and focusing on my form & mobility. I could re-create my form breakdown on video at a lighter weight (DPT is okay w/ this). My form may breakdown organically, or I may need to force it, which I would note. If it is acceptable, I could pm you and Pete a video of my okay form rep and a re-creation of my bad rep?

    Thanks

I do not do personal video evaluations. Pete does. Have your CC info ready.
