Need Help Fixing Clean
Hi there,
I've been having a hell of a time trying to learn the Clean without a coach. I took 50 lbs odd the bar and tried again today.
Am I right in saying my hips are too high and the quads don't initiate the movement, and bar travels around knees?
If so how can I fix this?

Can't watch a video on Googledrive.

Coach,
Here's the video uploaded to YouTube. Hopefully that'll suffice. Thanks

Hips are too high/bar is behind the mid-foot, and the floor pull is too slow. Rack is pretty good.

Thanks coach,
Would the best fix be to step back a half inch or so from the bar, and think about sinking the hips a bit?

Have you read the book? It's in the book.

I did read over the chapter a couple times. I see the fix for high hips: "You can easily correct the problem by adjusting your starting position: lower your hips, squeeze your chest up, and keep the bar against your shins as you pull. "
Should that also fix weight being behind the midfoot? Didn't see anything in the chapter on that.

Step 1 of the start position instructions places the bar over the mid-foot.

Hi Coach,
Question from the chapter on the clean - is it still useful to think about pushing the floor away with the legs, similar to the deadlift?
Thanks
