Since my squat form check request worked out so well, I guess I'll give my deadlift a try as well (plus give Santana's gym some advertising). My squat is not irritating my back at all as far as I can tell, and today's deadlifts (which followed 345 x 3 x 5 squats), didn't have much effect on my lower back either.

Keep your butt up on the way down to make sure the bar ends where it started.
Pull the slack out of the bar before pushing the floor away and pick your chest up a harder.
