    • starting strength seminar april 2024
    • starting strength seminar jume 2024
    • starting strength seminar august 2024
    Can’t seem to get cleans down. I did them ( apparently successfully) at the seminar in October. Right off the bat, I think I’m arm pulling. November 17, 2021 - YouTube

    Slow the pull off the ground some and make sure the bar stays in contact with your legs to the jump position. Remember you're going to maintain that horizontal back angle longer off the ground than you would for the deadlift.
    Keep the elbows locked until you're on your way back down and attack the bar with your shoulders rather than leaning away and waiting for it to come crashing down.

    Thanks Pete. I remember all that, although the “ attack the bar with your shoulders “ is new and sounds like it might be a cue that will work. I think I have a mental block with the clean. To be clear, am I right about the arm pull? I spent that whole clean session mentally trying to get my head around that.

    Yeah, we did. But I’m a difficult case, what can I tell you? Like I said, I think I have a mental block. Maybe I just need someone yelling at me. 😂
