Not sure if it’s form related, but I am having a little discomfort in my anterior lateral left hip during warm-up that goes away once I get closer to my work set weights.

It's the bad knee slide, discussed in the book.

    Thanks,

I have one follow-up question. The effort was not discernibly high on these sets. Should I drop the weight down a little bit to work on my knee slide, or should I keep progressing the weight from that day?

You fix the knee slide during your warmups. If it stays fixed all the way up, maybe back off 20 pounds. That should be enough. But the hip flexor pain will take 3-4 weeks to heal.
