Default Deadlift Help. 1st Rep harder and slower than subsequent reps

The first rep of my working set for deadlift is always much harder than reps 2 and 3. I’m hoping some experienced eyes can see what I’m doing wrong on my first rep. Or possible reasons why this may be the case?

Any help is appreciated. Video link below: 405x3

    Thank you

My second rep almost always moves better than my first on heavy sets. But you could start by eliminating the extraneous bouncing around before the first rep. You also need to fully reset the back, from lumbar through thoracic, before the subsequent reps.

First of all, you need to fidget less and just go through the five-step set up and don't add anything extra.

Second, keep your hips up. You're dropping them.

The first rep can frequently be experienced as harder and slower than the next few reps. This is a normal observation. I'm not entirely sure why, but it might just be "calibrating" to the weight and understanding what you're in for.

Thanks Matt and Andrew for the responses.

I started this bullshit before the first rep in an attempt to “feel” the weight and get “set” as I thought the issue may be improper set up with no load.

I’ll cut it out. And focus on keeping my hips up.
