As a potential future aspiring SSC, let me see if I'm absorbing the blue book properly.
Observations:
1. Head does come up slightly on the way up even though my gaze is on the floor.
2. Back angle does not come up early out of the bottom. In fact, maybe it goes too horizontal. Theory: I'm subconsciously lifting my head because I the bar creep up since my back angle is getting too horizontal.
3. If my back is going too horizontal - the book is telling me that my butt is going to far back. i.e. I'm not drifting towards the guy on the right, not the guy on the left.
Am I on the right path here?

You back should get more horizontal at the top of your descent. Early in the downward phase. This keeps the knees back and keeps you from having to get so horizontal as you come out of the bottom.
Thank you both!
