    Hi all,
This is my recording for today - last work set of 3x5 @ 140 lbs.
On Monday, on the last work set, I only managed 3 reps + 1 rep.
I'm pleased I managed to complete all the reps today.

I'm still struggling with hip drive. And I know I rushed a couple of these - the first two reps felt good so I was a bit too excited to complete the set.

As always, your feedback will be appreciated.

Is there a weight at which you believe your hip involvement in the press is correct?

In other words, can you do good technique at 95lb? or 45lb?

I'm not sure. I think I'll just have to go over the videos again and get some more practice during my warm up sets.

I would be interested to see what those look like. You're not reaching your hip enough, but it seems like you already know that.

You need to be wearing a belt for these.

These are strict presses, or press 1.0. You need more practice with the hip movement. Start with the empty bar and practice feeling the bar bounce when you throw your hips. Think "tight armpits" in your setup and allow the bar to come back with you when you throw your hips forward. The hip movement needs to feel HUGE to you. Once you know what the bounce feels like, then add the press and make sure you wait for the bar to bounce before you press. It will feel "slow" when it is correct, like you missed the bounce.
