    Default Squat Form Check

    • starting strength seminar december 2023

    Here are two angles, any tips are appeciated. 5ft10, 182lbs, Stuck for a while on 305, missing often by 1 rep (that is not what is on the bar here). I'm trying to determine if it's a form issue, a programming issue (perhaps going to 1x5 then 2x5 backoffs) or if i just need to EAT MORE.

    Knees keep travelling forward in the first video. Bend over more, and freeze your knees about 1/3 - 1/2 of the way down. Depth was questionable on a few, last one might have been too deep. Good bit of lumbar flexion at the bottom.

    Second video shows you need to shove your knees out more. Knees are not tracking with the toes / feet. Shove them out harder at the bottom.

    I think my bar placement was off. I was sitting the bar on top of the spine of the scapula. It’s not that comfortable right now with heavy weight but I’m working on sitting it below and it’s helping me bend over more. From there I just tell myself big breath and keep knees out.
