Any tips to prevent it recurring?

age 54, varicose veins on right leg. Had phlebitis in them two months ago and was prescribed a steroid gel which worked after a week.

Now further down the leg (side of calf) I have got an open ulcerated wound and a 25mm bubble blister full of pus. The open wound hasn't healed in 12 days. Went to minor injuries and now on two types of penicillin (according to pharmacist when serving wife said it must be bad as they are strong ones).

I do 12 hour shifts (waste management plant, so lots of opportunities for infection) and most of that time I'm standing.

The plant is very hot, so although compression tights (training type as opposed to medical) are probably the way to go, I'm reluctant to get some because of the constant heat. I sweat pretty much the whole shift and suffer from cramping even though I drink an electrolyte drink.

I'm taking magnesium, creatine, bcaa, kelp, and horse chestnut supplements. I'm also drinking apple cider vinegar, and kefir.

Any suggestions would be great, thanks.
