Finally back in the gym . . . back injury saga.
Hey Gang,
I have been absent from the forums just recovering from my back injury (herniated disk, around L4 or L5 most likely).
After taking a minimalist approach and not healing for a month (on advice of GP doc) I went to see a specialist who got me on a course of oral steroids. Fast forward two and I'm feeling about 80% of normal. Good enough to go try a couple of workouts this week anyway.
One irony is that while my GP suggested I hurt myself lifting something, the back specialist said my injury is more likely tied to a lifetime of sitting (school/college/computer career). Although I'm to stay away from the things that "hurt" I should be as active as I can.
So I guess that's why you should get a 2nd opinion from doctors . . . !
