Ah, found them. Adidas Copa Zone Cushion II Sock - my favorites for deadlifts when the heat makes sweatpants more than a little uncomfortable.

I tried a variety of things but eventually settled on nothing so I still get some skinned shins but not had any bleeding in a very long time.

Got a pair of the Strong ones and they work great. Of course the first time I used them on my second set of 5 last rep I actually twisted slightly with the bar and hurt my back. Now I have a very sore left lower back. Not the sleeves fault but grrrrr!

I thought I'd provide a better explanation of my previous post:
Attach a cheap neck pad like this Access Denied to the bar. Address the bar with your shins touching the pad and just drag it right up. The pad is very comfortable, doesn't interfere with the lift, and it's easy on, easy off for the next exercise. Not for the purist, but this works very well for me. Give it a try!

I'm not sure how that can be the case. The bar will either be forward of mid-foot, your your hips will be higher/knees more extended at the start due to the thickness of the pad, right?

Momentarily, until it compresses against the shin. I have not noticed this to be a problem. It helps me attack the weight more aggressively knowing there will be no shin pain.

I found this video really helpful. Lifting without shin protection is helping me focus on form too.
