I was a little too amped up for my first squats last week. I grabbed the weight too fast off the rack and had to catch myself. Oops. Much more cautious now.

I'm surprised how I've learned to push through on the heavier weights. I'm approaching PR's on most of the lifts so I've reached the everything is tough stage. There is an article on the website that talks about just worrying about the first lift. Well worth a read. I've found it much better not to think about the process too much. Just push a moment til the weight moves. Especially true on deadlifts.

The one place I do feel the workout is the legs - especially the calves. I would describe it as a general ache. The odd thing is my legs feel good during the lifts and after. I start to feel it after I lay down.

Thanks to everyone on the site for the information and support. Funny to think I will be my strongest at age 54...
