Encompass Fitness in Ashland (my gym) has a couple power racks and I see their trainers showing people (high, 1/4 depth) squats etc. They also have a location in Natick.

The best place to train in RI is Next Level Fitness/Athlete Training Center in Johnston. They have about 8 platforms, 8 racks, astroturf area with prowlers, bumper plates, pull up bars, big tires, etc.

That does look good. And the membership is cheap.

And you can get house on 2 acres for under 400k there:

Attention homies, I'm launching a Starting Strength class in Everett hosted at CrossFit RBP. Details can be found here. Feel free to PM me for details and please spread the word. We launch the first cycle on Monday, March 14th!

I swear the South Shore is like the Bermuda Triangle of barbell coaching/quality gyms. With the exception of one spot (where I am a member) and the 3 billion Crossfit boxes there is no gym I have found to have platforms/bumpers, and with that comes a lack of coaching. Noah, screw the North Shore and come down to the Dirty South.

As a Brockton native and resident, I have an aversion to Fall River (HS rivals). I kid, I stopped caring about high school rivalries the second my last HS football game was over.

I imagine rent in Brockton would be similar, no?

Noah is no longer living in Massachusetts. I believe he was the only SSC in MA. Any options for someone who wants a qualified eye critiquing their lifts in person in real time? Other than traveling to NYC??

Cambridge Strength doesn't really offer the in-depth, 1 on 1 coaching that some might need, but one of the owners spotted and help fix a squat form flaw for me on my first night there. Wish I could still train there. Being the strongest dude in the gym sucks (when you aren't really that strong).
