    Hello Tom,

Here is a video of me performing one of my back off sets of SLDL.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvAQzxKCH_w

This is a follow up reply from this topic http://startingstrength.com/resource...eck-430x1.html

Sorry if the angle is bad, but couldn't find any other place to put the phone without falling or video taping others

    No unnecessary fillers etc

    Thanks so much

It is tough to tell from the video, but it looks like your back is in a little flexion on most of those reps. Work harder to get it flatter. This may require a little more bend in the knees to get there. Otherwise, things look okay.

Thanks Tom for your reply I will work on getting my back flatter. I was thinking it might be the cleans that cause pain who knows.

I am not in love with SLDLs for precisely this reason. They require a good deal of hamstring extensibility and good proprioception to avoid being in flexion.

Would you suggest replacing them ? If yes what would you do for pulling if I already have the deadlift and cleans ? Thanks again

I would consider RDLs. They are similar to SLDLs, but they allow for people to be a little less flexible. If you are going to do SLDLs, you are going to have to work hard to squeeze up.

I really don't like good mornings and I never program them for any of my trainees. I am probably the wrong person to ask on that. If you want deadlift assistance, I would do something that looks more like a deadlift.
