    • starting strength seminar october 2024
    can anyone tell me what Rip's opinion on kettlebells is? particularly the swing? in the 3rd edition book there is an illustration of the swing and I got the impression he doesn't feel like it is true strength training

    They're okay for conditioning, not great for building strength.

    I do kettlebell swings a couple times per week, as Sean mentioned, for conditioning purposes. (HIIT)

    I feel that they have complemented my SS / Barbell Prescription training well, without leaving me depleted for my next training session.

    I don't use them for anything else other than warm-ups.

    I do some swings to warm up. I also like them for conditioning .
