    Or Testament?

As far as guys who are still putting out new thrash metal, Toxic Holocaust is fun live.

P.S. For history podcasts I like Dan Carlin's Hardcore History and Daniele Bolelli's History on Fire, but am always looking for others.
My split from new to old isn't an exact science. I know that Slayer has been around, just made more sense to have them in the "new" category to me. Also I'll give those bands a listen.

I was a teenager in the 00's and listened exclusively to hip-hop. Started listening to classic rock in my twenties. Now I'm in my thirties and just started lifting seriously again. This time I have been into the metal that kids in my highschool were all about. I'm finding all these cool "new" bands and songs and only listen to them while I'm lifting so there is a neat synergy going on between wanting to listen to this awesome shit and lift more weight.

Beat a long-standing DL 5RM PR to Pantera's Cemetary Gates last weak when that first heavy rift comes in. Destroyed it

Usually George Strait (don't laugh) between sets b/c his music is amazing and I lift better when I'm happy and focused.

Otherwise, just random songs that get me revved when needed.

Dave Matthews Band-"The Last Stop" (don't laugh)
    Beastie Boys-"Sabotage"
    Korn-"Freak on a Leash"
some others I can't recall on my playlist
    Tons of old Metallica

For heavy squats my go to song is System of a Down's B.Y.O.B.
Get under the bar right at 2:16 in the song and blast through those reps.
