My Legs and Knees are sore from squats and DLs 2 nights ago. Should I still lift heavy or should I lower the weight?

That your body wasn't adapted to the stress it was exposed to. Seems to me like the best response to a lack of adaptation to stress is not to avoid the driver of adaption but instead to lean into it in a smart planned way. Carry on with your regularly scheduled training.

Not painful, sore. I can tell the difference.

By this logic, soreness being an idicator of a failure to adapt is synonymous with not fully recovered. It then seems counterintuitive to continue with my regularly scheduled training until recovered in order to allow for said adaptation.

I find sore knees for me can be an indication they aren't tracking over the foot as well as they should. Instead, they might be a little to the left or right.

If this is your first time having this issue, I'd just train again and see if it happens again. If it does, there is probably something to correct and a form video would help.
