I was able to get some training in, despite a long day of work. But we got all of our work done today, and are able to go home tomorrow instead of on Wednesday. I finally got to the gym at about 6PM, after sitting in traffic, and a while on the phone with the travel agent to rearrange the flights. The gym I went to used to be really cool, at least I thought it was back in March 2013. They had a separate room dedicated to powerlifting & olympic lifting, separate from curl bros and machines. Perfect. The room had a raised floor (???), which was broken when some folks dropped heavy weights from overhead (@fitters, probably). They moved all of the squat racks & equipment outside, into a fenced-in area. At least a couple of racks were placed under "family-barbeque-in-the-backyard tents", so the sun wasn't too bad. All of the gear was damaged in some degree - the bumpers looked chewed, and the racks were in poor repair. Speaking of chewed, there was a service dog who kept running around the place. The didn't have enough plates, so I took great pride in hogging all the 45s when I squatted & deadlifted. There were typical bros - dropped deadlifts, shouting at each other to "psyche" each other up , and one lifter doing snatches, who was kind enough to share his chalk with me. (Thanks, Iggy!). At least I was able to train.
