Maybe. Or maybe just a lower heeled shoe (~.5"). Or maybe not. You'll have to experiment. But it seems to make sense that if you have short legs/femurs already, then you put on a shoe that puts your knees slightly more forward and torso more upright, you'll be even closer to a high bar type squat--more quads, less hips/posterior chain.

Works for me anyway. My bar path and knee cave problems go away with flat shoes.

I switched from squishy flat shoes to .75 lifting shoes and have had issues staying in my hips since. I may go back to squishy shoes until wife will allow ANOTHER lifting purchase

They make front squatting feel so much better. But when low bar squatting, it just feels awkward, even after 4 or 5 workouts. It feels like I have to fight to fall forward. Maybe it's the way I'm built. Normal torso, but long limbs.

What do you guys recommend? Stick with converse? Other shoes?
I've had similar experience. I absolutely can't front squat very well without lifting shoes, but I can't really tell a difference one way or another with the low-bar squat. In fact, I prefer to wear flat shoes with the bar on my back.

You mean getting the current shoes adjusted by a cobbler? Because if you're going to replace them entirely, why not sell the ones you have to at least subsidize the new ones? And let us know what you're thinking of getting. Sabo deadlifting shoes or something?

Kind of off topic, crossing over from that other thread about the powerlifts. This is another place I think the wood heel is a benefit. I'd imagine it's much easier for a cobbler to redo a wood heel vs. the composite. Anyone have experience with this?

Not sure the cobblers around here have experience with Nike Romaleos. No idea what to get. Would you recommend the Sabo? I originally wanted the 1/2 inch Do Wins, but they were discontinued last I checked.

I think Jordan had one shave down his PPII's, but the Romaleos have some kind of hard composite heel, right? Yeah, wood's probably the easiest/most familiar for them. There's a new heeled Sabo shoe with a leather sole, anybody ever heard of that?

Yep, composite and a series of triangular frames.

10.5. I do like them for O-lifting, so I think I will keep them for now and see if I still want them O-lifting after getting a flatter pair for squatting.
