Oct 23, 2021 NASA Iowa Regional Meet
I competed in men's open equipped powerlifting and masters 1 equipped push pull in the 242 lb (110 kg) weight class). I was nervous as I had never competed equipped before, especially as I wasn't consistently hitting depth on my suited squats. I weighed in at 239 lbs the night before the meet. The day prior to weigh in, I went to bed at 244 lbs. The next day I got up had 1 piece of toast and coffee then stopped all food/fluids. In about 12 hours I lost five lbs and it was easy.
Meet day- I went 9 for 9.
Squats: 225 kg, 240 and 250 kg (551 lbs). My last squat still moved quickly.
Bench: 170 kg, 190 and 205 kg (451 lbs). Last bench also was pretty quick.
Deadlift: 225 kg, 245 and 265 kg (584 lbs). Last deadlift was a bit slow and I barely held my grip. As always, it was tough to get into position with the suit.
I was happy with these numbers and all of the top weights were pr's. I wore a loose sz 48 Spartan squat suit, a good fitting sz 50 chest with sz 52 arms Katana shirt with the sleeves shortened by 2" and a pretty loose sz 48 Velocity deadlift suit, regular stance.
