    Bodywt 216 lbs

Squats @ 480 lbs-1,2 PR,1. Small 3 lb pr on 2nd set but I'll take it, especially given that I'm about 15 lbs lighter than the last 2 rep squat pr. Rpe 9.75 for 2nd and 3rd sets.

    Chins-13,13,13

Bent barbell rows w/ straps @ 135 lbs-10,10, 10. Quick but tiring. I reduced the weight here and switched to a bent over row where barbell touches the ground between each rep.

    Dumbbell curls @ 40 lbs-10,10,10 Rpe 10

Thanks- my squats are still moving. I'd love to hit 500 lbs at 198 for my next meet.

Bodywt 212 lbs- Really watching my diet again. Need to get it down to around 205 lbs if I want to have easy cut to 198 for Oct 22nd meet.

    Squats @ 340 lbs-3,3,3,3,3 Pretty quick

Deadlifts @ 485 lbs-0 Big Fail. The weight just felt very heavy. This shouldn't have been that bad.
Deadlifts w/ straps @ 485 lbs-1. Rpe 9.75. Just way too difficult compared to how it should be.
Deadlift @ 455-1. Rpe 9.5. Just to see how it felt, I tried 455 without straps and it felt real heavy.

I stopped workout here. Based on my volume sessions, I should be pulling at least 525. But I had a tough time at 475 a few weeks ago on singles and missed 485 here. I'm not sure what the issue is on the singles. I'm wondering if doing all the volume work with straps is a mistake. I'm not getting any real work done without straps, and so the weights feel real heavy on my strapless singles day. I think I'm going to switch all deadlifts back to strapless, and reduce the weight a bit.

Why not try to get just half of your volume without straps.?
Use the straps to save your digits when you have gotten the practice and grip work in but when the hands start to get Raw, the straps are nice. This allows you to get the competition grip trained and to continue to train volume with a heavier weight.

That's actually a better idea than all or nothing. I'll try to do the 1st half of volume workouts without straps and then switch to straps when I start to fatigue.

Bodywt 212 lbs. I'm definitely having some recovery issues, likely due to weight loss, as my shoulders and pecs are still a bit sore from Friday.

Bench w/ wraps @ 325 lbs-3,3,3 Rpe 9.75. Got through it but it wasn't easy.

Press @ 187 lbs-3,3,3 Fail as I wanted 5 for each set but knew I didn't have it. I'd say last set was rpe 9.25.

Bench @ 225 lbs-10,20. I was really running on fumes by this point.

Sumo and Conventional deadlift form practice @ 225- lots. After yesterday's deadlift fiasco I wanted to play around a bit with my form. I'm 2 holes smaller in my belt already and I think that's throwing me off a bit. Although both feel about equal, it seemed like sumo (semi) was less fatiguing and easier to keep back in extension.
