    Based on my results from last week's WNPF NYS Meet, my comeback attempt is complete, so I guess it's time to start a new log here. I've had a lot of ups and downs due to my accident five years ago, and the ongoing issues with my girl's dementia. It was near impossible even getting back to a meet, but it's done and I'm ready to move on (and up).
    Anyone who didn't see the results will find them in the general section, and my next meet will be the CanAm Nationals on June 13 in Rochester, NY. My goals for the meet are 350 SQ, 240 BP, and 400 DL in 198 lb, 60-64 Raw. I took most of this week off and started back today;
    Bwt - 192
    OHP: 45 x 5, 65 x 3, 85 x 2, 100 x 1, 115 x 5, 95 x 5 x 2 b/o
    SQ: 115 x 5, 145 x 5, 185 x 5, 225 x 5, 185 x 8 b/o
    CG floor press: 115 x 5, 145 x 6, 155 x 5
    DL: 135 x 5, 185 x 3, 235 x 2, 265 x 1, 300 x 5

    My girl has been more confused and "detached" the last few days. This morning she got up at 5 am, and I started one of her favorite shows on Netflix while I tried to get a little more sleep on the couch. No good...I could hear her getting up every 10-15 minutes, walking back and forth between the living room and bedroom. I finally had to get up and help her wash up and get dressed, then I took her to breakfast about 6:30.
    Tomorrow, her son is going to the assisted living facility with me while my mom stays with her. He needs to see where she may be soon (very soon), and hopefully he will also get involved more, and see her more often!

    The aide arrived at 9 and I did my workout. It went alright, but my knees seem to be bothering me more since I started doing multiple sets of 5 in the squat, and I'm still seeing my chiro weekly to work the kinks in my back out. I may try massage when I get the chance to see if it might help. The VA chiro's I've seen, and my own chiro, have all recommended I try it.
    Bwt - 194.5 (after breakfast)
    SQ: 135 x 5, 165 x 5, 195 x 5, 225 x 5, 255 x 5
    Leverage row: 50 x 8, 75 x 8, 100 x 8
    BP: 95 x 5, 115 x 3, 135 x 2, 155 x 1, 175 x 5, 150 x 5 x 2 b/o (I paused all BP reps)

    I wish you luck with the assisted facility. I know we want to think we can do it all, but it sure takes its toll. I know I tried, but we are only human. As my mom used to say a mother can take care of many kids, but it almost impossible for many kids to take care of one mom.

    Thanks Jerry, I've tried to make the best decisions for her from the start, but I sure wish it had never come to this, and I'll leave it at that. On a different note, anyone who wants to see video from my meet can find it at http://www.ipowerlift.net. Click on videos on the home page and you'll find the WNPF NYS meet from Feb 28 at the top of the list. So you'll be sure which one is me, I'm in the first flight of squatters at about 7:40 in for my first attempt 285. The tall skinny guy with the "grey hair" and TK knee sleeves! I believe I was in the third flight of benchers and second flight of deadlifters. Enjoy!

    I had a pretty good workout today, though my heavy set of OHP felt especially heavy! Today was a light squat day, and I dropped some weight on my DL to push the reps a little. Next week I start my actual cycle for the CanAms on June 13. My back also seems to be improving, gradually, so I'm pretty optimistic right now.
    Bwt - 194
    OHP: 45 x 5, 65 x 3, 85 x 2, 100 x 1, 118 x 4, 95 x 5 x 2 b/o
    SQ: 135 x 5, 165 x 5, 195 x 5, 225 x 5, 185 x 8 b/o
    Close-grip (16") floor press: 115 x 5, 150 x 7*, 160 x 5*
    DL: 135 x 5, 175 x 3, 215 x 2, 255 x 8*

    Missed my Monday workout this week, so had to wait till today, my light squat day. Having a problem with some sciatica, and my knees have been bothering me more, but I got through today's workout as planned.

    SQ: 135 x 5, 165 x 5, 195 x 5, 230 x 5, 185 x 8 b/o
    Close-grip floor press: 115 x 5, 155 x 7*, 165 x 6* PRs

    My girl is keeping me busier all the time, so I haven't logged in here for awhile. With the aide coming three days a week to watch my girl, I have been able to keep up with my workouts, and despite the stress, I continue to make pretty steady progress. This is where I stand as of today's workout;
    Bwt - 197
    SQ: 145 x 5, 185 x 5, 225 x 5, 265 x 3, 310 x 3*PR
    Lev. row: 95 x 8, 130 x 8, 160 x 8*PR
    BP: 115 x 5, 145 x 3, 175 x 1, 203 x 3*PR, 185 x 12 second iso-hold at mid-range
    Rev. hyper: 65 x 8, 95 x 8, 115 x 8*PR
    My next meet is just under six weeks away, June 13. I hope to approach a 1000 total.

    Thanks Kess, I think I was just fortunate to find the best setup for me. As long as it works, I'll keep pushin' it! And congrats on your meet, you look good for much more this year!
