Thanks. Maybe I should take up Strongman instead. Then again, some of the events are pretty much just cardio with heavy weights, so maybe it's not for me.

    Jordan, apparently.

    Monday, 1 August

    Pullup 8 min - 35 reps
    L-Sits 8 min, 10s on/20s rest
    Run: 3 min x 4, 2 min rest - 1.45 mi

First time doing L-sits. I like them--correction: They seem like a useful tool. But I did have to switch from parallettes to one of those larger things with a back pad and handles (anybody know what they're called?), since I couldn't keep my feet high enough after a few rounds. Something to work on.

    Tuesday, 2 August

    Deadlift: 495x1@8, 335x5x2@72
    3-0-0 Tempo Deadlift 225x3x2@<6
    Pin Bench: 315x1@8, 295x4@9
    Barbell Row: 155x7@7, 175x7@8, 195x7@9

I can't really judge RPE on rows, to be honest, so those are even more WAGs than normal.

I don't want to make a new thread for this, but someone is selling the Bowflex adjustable dumbbells that go up to 52.5 lbs for $150. Worth it or pass? I do need to get some dumbbells. My gym stuff should get here in about 2 months, but I don't have any dumbbells yet.

I find those are not of good quality.( have some in my workplace gym) Eventually the latching mechanism begins to fail if they are subject to hard use. (Any drops) I have even had plates of these fall off while doing hammer curls and barely miss my foot.
You can get some Dumbbells with Olympic collars at a reasonable price and use the weights you have might need extra 25's and 10's and 5's.

That's what the reviews said, and why I opted not to get them.

I'm considering those as well. The main problem there is how far out the plates go, so if you move your wrist at all it would be pretty easy to bang weights into your forearm.

Very awesome; especially considering the last 10 seconds of the pull had his head cranked to the right, in admiration of the white-shirt YT!

    starting strength coach development program
    Wednesday, 3 August

    T&G Bench: 385x1@9.5, 325x5x1@8
    Press: 165x7@7, 180x7@8, 190x7@9, 225x1@7

    Thursday, 4 August

    Pullup 8 min - 32 reps
    Plank 8 min, 15s on/15s rest
    Rower: 10 min @8/2 min rest x3

Well, it's supposed to be RPE 8, but I don't think I hit the intensity I was supposed to. Rowing for longer times is weird to me. And my arms, not my abs, are the limiting factor on planks. Am I alone there?

    Friday, 5 August

    2" Deficit Deadlift: 475x1@8, 405x4@9
    Bench w/Red Minis: 295x1@8, 265x4@9

    Saturday, 6 August

    Bench: 365x1@8, 385x1@9.5, 405x0@not even close
    Deadlift: 455x1@8, 350x5x4@7
    w/ Barbell Row: 135x10@7, 145x10@8, 155x10x2@9

Went to Berlin on Sunday, so I moved lifting up a day. Went around 5 AM, had the gym pretty much to myself, so I could set up bench with safeties. Knew 405 was stupid, but went for it anyway... didn't work, at all. Oh well, admit my failures and move on.

    Monday, 8 August

    Pullup 8 min - 38 reps
    Plank 8 min, 15s on/15s rest
    Run - 1.5 mi in 12:52
    Pushups - 55 in 1 min

    Tuesday, 9 August

    Front Rack Step-up: 95x8eax3
    Pin Bench: 335x1@8, 300x4x3@8.5
    Press: 140x10@7, 150x10@8, 155x10x2@9

Falling back into the bad habit of pressing it behind me at lockout.

    Wednesday, 10 August

    T&G Bench: 365x1@8, 315x4x3@8.5
    RDL: 185x10@7, 205x10@8, 225x10x2@9

I'd been letting my top single drift above RPE 8, now I'm bringing it back down to where it's supposed to be. For sets of 10, though, I honestly have no idea what the RPE is.

    Thursday, 11 August

    Pullup 8 min - 34 reps
    Plank 8 min, 15s on/15s rest
    Rower: 10 min @8/2 min rest x3

    Friday, 12 August

    2" Deficit Deadlift: 495x1@8, 405x4x3@9
    Slingshot Bench: 405x1@9, 365x4@10, 345x4x2@9
w/ Good Morning: 95x10x3@RPE who knows?

Bench and deadlift the same (kind of)? I'm coming for you, Karl.

    Sunday, 14 August

    Bench: 365x1@8.5, 295x4x6@8
    Deadlift: 500x1@8, 385x5x3@7.5
    Barbell Row: 140x10@7, 150x10@8, 160x10x2@9

    Monday, 15 August

    Mock tested myself

Waist:36-36.5" (Standard measuring tape; my 1-handed one is still being shipped.)
    Pushups: 54 in 1 min
    "Situps": 57 in 52 seconds
    Run: 1.5 miles in 12:56

Did this at noon. All the practice runs I've done have been passing times, so I have no need to be worried about the real thing. Doesn't mean I'm not, just that I shouldn't be.

    Tuesday, 16 August

    Front Rack Step-up: 45x8eax1, 65x8eax2
    Floor Press: 305x2@8, 295x4x3@9
    DB Press: 50x10@7, 55x10@7.5, 60x10x2@8.5

A few inches in box height makes a huge difference here.

    Wednesday, 17 August

    T&G Bench: 370x1@7.5, 325x4x3@9
    RDL: 135x10x2

Last workout before testing. 0800 tomorrow is the start. Looking forward to getting back to some real training.
