close grip bench on strength & mass after 40
Hi Andy. I am making good progress on this program but have never done CGB before. I use 235 for sets of 5 on regular bench, 260 for singles. I don't have any pain with these regular bench at all. On CGB i get pain in front delt area (I presume its bicep tendon but not sure) even using 135. I use a shoulder width grip not super close at all. I tuck my elbows. I don't have any pain doing dumbbell bench either so its weird. Only with close grip bench and only in one felt. I wanted to find out what you would suggest. Do I lower weight even more and try to do them, do I just do more regular bench, more dumbbell etc. I am 45 weigh 207 and am 5'10". I don't have any injuries (that I know of anyway).

Hate to tell you this, but since you specifically named Andy, I think you hit the wrong of the two Programming forums. You'll want the Programming subforum directly under the Starting Strength forum, with Ripp's Q&A and Feigenbaum's subforum.
