Program Press on Texas Method
Hi, My name is Elad, 26 Years old, 5'10", 200.
Currently on the Texas Method, As Nick suggested on one of the articles I am doing 5x5 Press on Wednesday and 7x1 on Friday, keeping the bench on 5x5 and 1x5.
I still can make a good progress on the singles but what can I do if I can no longer progress on the 5x5 day ? I am taking 90% of the intensity day for that week.
all the other lifts going up pretty well.

1) Resting about 5-8 Min in Between sets.
2)Adding 2.5 Pounds on the press on each intensity day.
3)Eating 4000-4200 Calories a day.
Press intensity day weight 162.5 7x1
Volume day press weight 146 5x5

Try 10 minutes between sets. The 5 minutes is most likely the problem.

Tried, got stuck.
what would you suggest ? maybe 90% of the 7x1 on the intensity day become too much ? would it be a good idea to drop the percentage a little bit? or just get 25 reps however ?

You're a female, right? You can't go up 2.5 pounds on the press.

My wife shares my account actually, just intrested to understand how can I continue progressing on the Press, I would love some tips for things that I haven't found in the book the answer for.

I LOVE the Press
I HATE the Press
I LOVE the Press
LOL... I did start having more gains when I moved to pressing 3/4 times per week, for what it’s worth..

I was doing the same press and bench scheme. I found that after about eight weeks I had to back off the 5x5 volume press to a little under 85%, which still produced enough stress to keep progressing on the singles.

I found my self fight for that 5x5 with 90% of my 7x1 with no luck, ended up with 8x3 on my last volume day, 85% will be much needed break, thank you.
