So, I have be useing accessory base movments for sets of 5s to 8s and have found they seem to translate a better stress then 10s to 12s. For example, say on my heavy-light 4 day split I'm doing
Bench 5x5 H
Press 3x5 with a 5% offset
LTE for 4x5 or 3x8, I found using the 115 pounds for 5s compared to the 90 pounds for sets of 12s has helped me keep my elbow tighter on the pressing movments and is helping me move the last set of 5 better. Of course this just means I'm getting stronger, hopefully around .5 to 1 pound a week at the bench. Has anyone else done, or noticed this. In squat and pulls I don't really need anymore extra work as these two lifts
are stressful enough. I kinda wonder if just doing 2 back off sets with a close grip bench press for 5s would work even better?
