Jonathon Sullivan made a very good video about olympic lifts over 40. Thank you very much Jonathon Sullivan!

I'm 40 year old and can do full Snatch and Clean almost perfect. Should I do Power Snatch/Clean or full Snatch/Clean?

It takes more power to move the bar the greater distance from the floor to the higher rack position of the Power Snatch/Clean, so maybe it is best just to train Power Snatch/Clean?

But I also think a full Snatch/Clean train speed, balance and mobility in a very good way, so maybe it is good to do them?

Maybe the risk of injury is too high with the full Snatch/Clean?

    Help me

I haven't seen the video. What does he recommend?

I just watched the video. Sullivan does not talk about full clean/snatch vs the power variants at all there.

Other than that, he states three criteria for doing the olympic lifts as an older person:
    - desire: you want to do them
    - aptitude: you have the talent for doing them
    - tolerance: they don't interfere with your strength training

There definitely is injury potential in the olympic lifts. I personally fell over backwards once in a clean attempt (no injuries). And one guy fucked up his shoulders in my former Crossfit gym once so that he was out of most upper body exercises for 6 months.
