    Default From CrossFit to strength training

    • starting strength seminar december 2024
    • starting strength seminar february 2025
    • starting strength seminar april 2025
    I am 40 years old and have been training CrossFit for almost 20 years. CrossFit has been fun, but I don't think it's healthy. Now I will only train for health.

    What do you think of this program?

    Monday
    • 5x5 Snatch
    • 5x5 Shoulder Press

    Tuesday
    • 5x5 Back Squat
    • 5x5 Pull-up (weight vest)

    Thursday
    • 5x5 Power Clean
    • 5x5 Benchpress

    Friday
    • 5x5 Deadlift
    • 5x5 Dips (weight vest)

    Do you think A hybrid model for olympic lifting in chapter 7 is the best way if I want strength training with olympic lifting? Or where should I look in the book? I will only train for health and will never compete.

    Im 40, I need more than 1 squat session per week to maintain neuromuscular skill. Squat is more techincal a movement than people think.

    There are more effective, efficient ways to arrange your programming and they can be found in the book Mr Rippetoe has linked in his reply.

    You need to do the novice program first and foremost. From there you can expand outward to train the olympic lifts as your light and medium pull days.
