    Default Lifting in work boots

Does anyone else do this? I tried lifting in my redwings recently, and I really like it. They are very comfortable, and have a firm and slightly elevated heel. It does reduce ankle mobility a little, but I'm able to squat and deadlift in them without any problems. The steel toe and metatarsal guard should save me from a broken foot if I ever drop a plate.

I have some $225 Kayland boots that I no longer use for hiking since I can no longer hike...I lift in them from time to time. I did it for kicks the first time to keep them from going to waste. Decided it was a groovy thing to do.

I've found that skater (as in skate boarding) shoes work well. Stable, flat, comfortable, no cushioning at the bottom. Always can get a pair at Big 5 for less than $20 a pair

Ive lifted barefoot, in various types of 'flat soled, no cushion' shoes, work boots and Oly shoes. Nothing felt more stable and secure than my Oly shoes. You can find the 2010 pendlay shoes discounted to like $75

I wouldn't lift in mine though. Ankle mobility is too limited for me to feel comfortable squatting heavy in them.

This probably means I'm a pussy.
