For squat and bench, you need to be able to lift an empty bar.
For the deadlift it'll probably be a good idea to be able to lift 135lbs, so the bar is off the ground.
I want to compete at local raw PL meets someday. just wanted to know what must be a guy's lifts to start competing?
and I was discussing with a friend about lifting the rear (or front) of sedan cars. how much your deadlift has to be before you're able to lift random sedans in the street?

i am still looking at your name wondering how to read it. i bet that has a meaning similar to native american names. "blue sad bear", "heart break tall wolf".
Well, if it's Danish, it's pronounced something like Tuy-ge Rees-gourd. Well, more like Tuy-eh Ees-go. Danes drop a lot of consonants.
Thyge is sort of a dimunitive of Thor ("Thorie") and Riisgaard means something like "Wheat farm".
And gnome keeps bringing the comedy.
but aside from the hardcore norse names. I asked for serious. can you lift the back of a car if you are deadlifting 500lbs?
Probably less than that but it depends on the car. Juan "the Sumoman" lifted his car quite a lot back in the day, but his deadlift was well below 550 lbs at the time.
very interesting link it is. thanks
