    get Kilo bumper plates.

How many reds you have on the bar is the measure of your lifting ability. No one cares about blues, yellows, greens or whites.
I care if you have lots of blues! but seriously kilo's are too cool to not get

I have plates in kilos; 2x25, 2x20, 2x15, 2x10, 2x5, 2x2.5, 2x1.25, 2x0.5. You don't need the 15s (35lbs) but you must replace them with something to make up the weights around 100kg (probably 4x20kg is the way to go, but I got 15s because it was cheaper in a set). I think the 0.5s are useful for micro-loading the press; it can be difficult to go up 2.5kg (5lbs) a week. I paid extra for coloured bumper plates but I think it was a good idea; it really helps avoid loading mistakes which can easily injure you.

You need 4 10s.. I made this mistake when I bought plates for my garage gym and I couldn't load 20 or 22.5lbs on the side of the barbell. Kind of a problem on SS..

thanks for all the great info! my biggest concern was the 35s because i never use my iron 35s either so i figured these would be useless. thanks again!

I can understand why people dislike the iron 15k/35lb plates... But if you're getting bumper plates you may as well have them. I use 15's quite often...

15 kilo plates seem pretty useful to me, 35lb metals do not seem useful

Can you elaborate? do you mean 4x10kg or 4x10lb? why would 20-22lb not fit on your bar?

Say you have two 10's, two 5's, and two 2.5's, the max. you can increase the weight without some other creative combo of plates is 17.5 lbs per side.

By creative combo, I mean that if your bar has a 25 on each side (95 total), you could take the 25s off and finally use the 35s and add two 10s to get your 20 lb increase per side.

Lb plates are a bit silly... Kilo plates make much more sense.
