Barbells and bumpers in Australia
I'm looking for a little advice about what I should buy. I have two choices so far.
Iron Edge:
http://www.ironedge.com.au/store/iro...power-bar.html
Rouge B&R:
http://www.rogueaustralia.com/brands/YORK-BARBELL.html
So both bars are $600. Except the B&R has a $300 mark up from what you pay in the states. Is that a complete waste of money to buy the B&R, it seems I'm paying $600 for a $300 bar.
Both companies have a place in Melbourne where I can try them out. Same sort of warranties. I have tried the Iron Edge bar before, and loved it, I also called to owner of a nearby gym (PTC Frankston) and asked his opinion of the bar, which he owns 11 of, and he spoke positively about it. I'm really just looking for a nice powerlifting bar, that will last me as long as I need. ( current cheap bar is bent )
Now for Bumpers. Since I'm getting a nice bar, I want to squat out of the cage incase I drop my new bar onto the pins. I also want these to last a lifetime.

Thanks for any advice. I'm leaning towards the Iron Edge bar, no idea about the bumpers.

I'd get the iron edge ones. They're cheaper, and Iron Edge has established that they have great customer support in Aus already. While Rogue in the US is great, Rogue Aus hasn't yet had time to establish a rep. Plus it's probably easier to get bar and plate at the same time. I'm guessing that the Iron Edge bar is probably made by Australian Barbell Co (not sure if anybody else makes BB in Aus) and they make good bars.
I would note that for a variety of reasons (greater sales numbers, cheaper labour costs) the $600 Iron Edge bar would probably cost $300 if in the USA, so the mark up isn't a big factor.

I have the Iron Edge power bar and it's a great bar. I'd say it's a bit higher quality than the Texas Power Bar I used to have.
Yes they are manufactured by ABC.

In case anyone finds this post on google.
Iron Edge Power bar review.
The bar is quality. Checked it for straight at the show centre using the notepad and rack method. It was perfect. The knurling is awesome, 100 times better than my crappy standard bar. The bar is black, it looks badass.
The guys there were helpful and friendly. They even chucked in some pro lock jaw collars for free. The dude who served me said thanks and shook my hand, that goes a long way with me, and seeks volumes regarding their customer service.
The bumpers are nice, quality stuff.
Will have no worries buying from them again, or recommending them.
