    Also, are you taking a deep breath for a solid valsalva to brace against the belt? Learning how to do that made a huge difference in how everything went for me.

    I do all my "supplemental" lifts (any lift that is not one of the 3 competitive lifts) without a belt except OH Press. A couple years ago I tweaked my back pressing. For me it's a good propriociptive reminder to limit my layback and allows me to get a tighter torso and helps me from letting my spine isn't doing anything weird.

    I do everything - including accesories - in my 4 inch Inzer. It makes everything tighter, and since i use a valsalva for all my accessory lifting, I can do a better Valsalva.

    Not wearing a belt is cheating. Yourself. Out of gainz.
